Sitharaman presented the Budget for FY25 on July 23, and discussions are ongoing in both houses.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday introduced the Finance Bill 2024 for the fiscal year 2024-2025 in the Lok Sabha. The bill is currently under consideration and is expected to be passed according to the day’s agenda.

For the Finance Bill to become law and implement the Budget proposals, it must be approved by both houses of Parliament.

Sitharaman presented the Budget for FY25 on July 23, and discussions are ongoing in both houses.

The budget session of Parliament, which began on July 22, is scheduled to conclude on August 12.

The Lok Sabha has already passed The Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2024, which authorizes the government to draw certain amounts from the Consolidated Fund of India for the central government’s expenditure for the financial year 2024-25.
